Connect Claude, Cursor or any MCP client to VOID Trader. Your agent can read your balance, positions and history, and, if you let it, place and manage trades, all through the same server-side risk limits and audit trail as the app. Nothing is bypassed.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard for connecting AI agents to tools. VOID Trader speaks it, so your agent talks to your account through a key you issue and control.
Mint an API key in Settings and choose its reach: a read key can only view, a read + trade key can also place and close orders. The key is shown once and tied to your account.
Every agent action runs the exact same checks as a manual trade: your daily loss limit, lockout, market-hours rules, margin, and the full order audit log. The agent cannot lift your own guardrails.
See when each key was last used and revoke it in one click. Lost a key or done with an agent? Revoke it and the access is gone immediately, no password change, no fallout.
You will need an MCP-capable client, Claude Code, the Claude desktop app, Cursor, or any client that accepts a server URL with an authorization header.
In VOID Trader, open Settings → API Keys and create a key. Give it a name (the tool that will use it), pick Read only or Read + Trade, and copy the key, it is shown once.
Point your client at the VOID Trader MCP endpoint and pass your key as a bearer token. In Claude Code:
# add VOID Trader as a remote MCP server claude mcp add --transport http void-trader https://mcp.voidtrading.io/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer vk_YOUR_KEY"
Or, for a client that reads an mcp.json (Cursor and others):
{
"mcpServers": {
"void-trader": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.voidtrading.io/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer vk_YOUR_KEY" }
}
}
}
Restart the client so it picks up the server, then just ask. The VOID tools appear automatically and the agent chooses the right one.
Split by scope: the read abilities work with any key, and the trade abilities need a Read + Trade key.
An API key is not a back door. It routes every request through the same engine your own clicks do, so an agent is just a faster set of hands, held to the same limits.
Mint a key in Settings and connect in under a minute.
